Real-Time 3D Face Acquisition Using Reconfigurable Hybrid Architecture

Acquiring 3D data of human face is a general problem which can be applied in face recognition, virtual reality, and many other applications. It can be solved using stereovision. This technique consists in acquiring data in three dimensions from two cameras. The aim is to implement an algorithmic chain which makes it possible to obtain a three-dimensional space from two two-dimensional spaces: two images coming from the two cameras. Towards a Reference Architecture for Model-Driven Business Apps

Model-driven development techniques have been proposed for cross-platform app development. Typically, an individual domain-specific language (DSL) is used. The MD² framework consists of a DSL for business apps and generators, which transform a domain model to native platform code. Prior research on it focused on language and general generator design, this paper accentuates the code generation stage. A reference architecture for the generated apps is proposed to accelerate the development of new generators for which architectural decisions had been made on ad-hoc basis up to now. An architecture for autonomous agents exploiting conceptual representations

An architecture for autonomous agents is proposed that integrates the functional and the behavioral approaches to robotics. The integration is based on the introduction of a conceptual level, linking together a subconceptual, behavioral, level, and a linguistic level, encompassing symbolic representation and data processing. The proposed architecture is described with reference to an experimental setup, in which the robot task is that of building a significant description of its working environment. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. CyProF – Insights from a Framework for Designing Cyber-Physical Systems in Production Environments

Abstract There is little experience in integrating cyber-physical systems (CPS) in production environments nowadays. A coordinated framework with reference architecture, methodology and procedural model can support the adaption of CPS by providing a pre-defined structure and guidelines. This paper describes such a framework, named CyProF, for designing CPS-based solutions in production environments. Engineers are supported by this framework in handling the complexity during the design phase. Additionally, this paper explains how the framework was used in a use case to reduce engineering efforts for a CPS-based demonstrator.

Essence is a standard for working with methods in software engineering. As such, it can be seen as the reference architecture for software engineering. The Essence consists of the Kernel, and a notation called the Language. This representation is not widely known and likely hinders the adoption of the Essence.
